We are walking on this narrow, cobbled road.
Turning and stopping where they tell,
Or running faster than we want to.
But someone was always there when we fell.

And then suddenly,

This narrow road grew with us.
We become taller, it became broader.
We jumped and skipped now over the parts we didn’t want.
With us, it became rougher and cruder.

And then suddenly,

The road burst into a thousand paths.
And all were gone, promises left behind.
Covering ourselves with cloaks of confidence.
But with no clue about what we would find.

And then suddenly,

When we started rolling down so fast,
Not even sure if we would be fine
And there was no one to catch us below,
We looked behind.

And then suddenly,

We realised that we had left heaven.
We realised that we were alone now.
We realised everything has changed.
We realised that the weight of the world made us bow.

And then suddenly,

We couldn’t remember.
The memories that are locked in the back of your brain refused to come out.
The pictures slowly slip from your hands like water.
And the words are at the tip of the tongue in your mouth.

And then suddenly,

All the wishes are lost.
All the memories, are lost.
All the friends, are lost.
All the time, is lost.

And then, suddenly

You can’t go back, the road is closed.
The only way is ahead, and
Out of this labyrinth.
But you have already reached the dead end.
