The world makes me nervous

When I try to pretend

Like I couldn’t care less,

But it makes my trust bend.

They judge every action

By a giggle, a glance.

Searching for reaction

I don’t want to give them a chance.

I look inside, searching

If I was ever that bad?

Their smiles, pushing,

Me deeper and sad.

I try now, to speak

To forget for a while.

Betrayal by my squeak,

And I want to run away a mile.

But I’m not scared, just nervous

It’ll pass soon; it’s not new.

And I couldn’t care less,

For I’ll judge them, too.

  1. Thanks! Nervousness and self consciousness is something everyone is familiar with… that’s why I wrote this.
